The Severn Valley Railway has confirmed the selection of four visiting locomotives for its upcoming Spring Diesel Festival, scheduled to run from Thursday 14 May until Sunday 17 May 2026.
The four guest locomotives joining the home fleet for the four day event are:
- A Class 67, appearing courtesy of DB Cargo. This marks the first time a Class 67 will haul a scheduled passenger service during a gala event at the railway.
- Class 35 Hymek D7018, visiting courtesy of the Diesel Electric Preservation Group.
- A Class 57, appearing courtesy of West Coast Railways.
- Class 55 Deltic No. 55009 Alycidon, provided courtesy of the Deltic Preservation Society.
Managing Director Gus Dunster noted that bringing together main line performers and heritage machines creates a varied and authentic spectacle for enthusiasts. The guest locomotives will operate alongside the existing home fleet to deliver an intensive timetable, giving visitors the opportunity to experience a broad variety of diesel traction.
Further announcements regarding the event may follow once final details are confirmed, with all appearances remaining subject to availability. For more information and to book tickets, visit the official Severn Valley Railway website.
