Indigo Lilac Studio is a luxury florist and school of floral design located within Bewdley Museum. The studio is run by resident craftsperson Kate Laudyr, who combines her two distinct passions for textile design and floristry into her work. Before focusing on flowers, Kate studied Fashion Design and completed a BA (Hons) in Textile Design for Fashion and Interiors at Hereford College of Arts, successfully selling her print designs to major brands like Calvin Klein and Gap in New York.
Driven by a love of plants and flowers, Kate retrained in floristry to master the principles of design in a new medium. She studied at Moreton Morrell College in Warwickshire, where she was taught by multi award winning professionals, including Interflora florists of the year and Chelsea gold medal winners. Today, she is a Level 4 Qualified Professional Florist.
The studio specialises in bespoke floral arrangements for weddings and special events. Alongside her own business, Kate frequently works on a freelance basis at prestigious events for prominent florists, including Fabulous Flowers of Oxford. For those looking to learn the craft, Indigo Lilac Studio also operates as a school of floral design, offering professional floristry classes directly from the studio.
