About Visit Bewdley
Find out the story behind Visit Bewdley. An independent, self-funded guide to the town, built by a local resident to support small businesses and community events.
The Story Behind Visit Bewdley
Visit Bewdley is not run by a council, a tourism board, or a committee. It is a fiercely independent project built by one local resident who loves the town and wanted a better way to showcase it than scattered social media groups and half-finished directories.
I built this site to bring everything together in one place. Whether you are looking for a great local café, checking what live music is on this weekend, or trying to find an independent tradesperson, it should be easy to find exactly what you need.
Every single listing, event, and guide on this platform has been added, checked, and formatted by hand. It takes a huge amount of time, but the goal is simple: to support small businesses, promote community events, and make Bewdley easier to explore for both locals and visitors.
How It Is Funded
The site is completely self-funded. I pay for the hosting, domain names, and software out of my own pocket, and I built and maintain the entire platform from scratch. I refuse to run annoying automated adverts. Instead, local businesses can support the project by upgrading to a Premium Featured Listing or becoming a Site Sponsor.
Get Involved
This guide thrives on local knowledge. If you know about a new business, an upcoming event, or a hidden corner of the town that deserves a spotlight, I want to hear about it. You can submit an event, suggest a missing listing, or send in your local photos and tips.
The Official Disclaimer
Just to be absolutely clear: Visit Bewdley is completely independent. It is not connected to Visit Worcestershire, Bewdley Town Council, Wyre Forest District Council, or any official government body. It is run entirely by one person (and a couple of cats). There is no corporate company and no committee, just a personal mission to build something brilliant for the town.
Get in Touch
Whether you want to upgrade your listing, become a site sponsor, hire me for a web project, or just share an idea, I am always open to a conversation. This is not a faceless corporation; it is just me trying to build something useful for Bewdley.
