Support Visit Bewdley

Support Visit Bewdley in any way you can – with time, skills, or sponsorship. Help us promote local life, keep things running, and create something we’re all proud of.

Keeping Bewdley Independent

Visit Bewdley is built and maintained by one person. My aim is simple: to create a useful, independent, and genuinely local guide. It exists to bring together everything that makes our town special, from independent cafés to community events and family-run shops.

There is no corporate funding behind this project. There is no committee and absolutely no council backing. Every listing is written by hand. Every event is checked. Every page is built from scratch in my spare time.

Running a platform like this costs money. Hosting, domains, and software licences add up quickly. I briefly tried running Google Ads, but they lasted less than 12 hours before they annoyed me so much I had to take them down. They ruin the user experience. Instead, I offer a few straightforward, high-value ways for local businesses to support the project and get seen by thousands of locals and visitors.

How Businesses Can Support the Site

If you run a local business, you can help keep this project alive while getting premium visibility across the town. Because I build and manage everything manually, there are no automated checkout screens. If you want to take advantage of these options, you just need to send me an email.

Upgrade to a Premium Featured Listing

The directory provides free basic listings for many local businesses. If you want to stand out from the crowd, you can upgrade to a Premium Featured Listing. These upgraded listings are pinned to the top of their category and get significantly more clicks. It is a highly effective way to put your business front and centre. To set this up, simply drop me an email and I will manually upgrade your account.

Become a Site Sponsor

You can sponsor the entire platform. As a starting point, your logo and a link to your business will appear in the footer of every single page on the website. But because this is my site, we can do whatever works best for you. Want your branding in the header? Dedicated columns down the side of pages? A prime spot on the homepage? Everything is negotiable. This is an exclusive opportunity to reach a massive local audience.

Need a Website Like This?

By trade, I am a senior web developer and digital strategist. While I built Visit Bewdley from scratch as a gift to the town, building high-performance digital platforms is what I do for a living. My background isn't just in small websites; I have spent years architecting large-scale platforms, developing social media ecosystems, and executing complex digital marketing data strategies.

If you find yourself impressed by how this site looks, how fast it functions, or how it dominates local search results, that is no accident. It is the result of applying professional-grade engineering to a local project. If your own business needs a developer who understands the intersection of clean code, user experience, and aggressive marketing growth, I am currently open to new work requests. Whether you need a bespoke local business site or a massive, complex data platform, get in touch to discuss how we can scale your project.

Other Ways to Help

Support does not always have to be financial. You can help the project grow in several ways:

  • Share local knowledge: Let me know about an upcoming event, a local story, or a tip that visitors would love.
  • Submit missing places: Notice a great shop, café, or service that is not in the directory yet? Send their details over so I can add them.
  • Send in photos: A good guide needs great pictures. If you have captured a beautiful shot of the town or a local event, I would love to feature it.
  • Spread the word: The easiest way to help is simply to tell people about the site. Share it on local social media groups or recommend it to visitors.

Get in Touch

Whether you want to upgrade your listing, become a site sponsor, hire me for a web project, or just share an idea, I am always open to a conversation. This is not a faceless corporation; it is just me trying to build something useful for Bewdley.
