Ben Bowling: Claire Spencer, Her Life

Ben Bowling on the life and work of his mother, the artist Claire Spencer, tied to her festival exhibition at Bewdley Museum. Part of the Bewdley Festival, Wednesday 14 October.

Ben Bowling, son of the artists Claire Spencer and Frank Bowling, talks about his mother’s life and work, tied to the Claire Spencer exhibition running at Bewdley Museum as part of this year’s festival. He looks at her lifelong dedication to painting, and The Field paintings in particular, a landscape she documented through the seasons and her concern for its loss to development.

Tickets are on the Bewdley Festival site. The exhibition itself is at Bewdley Museum, and festival talks are usually held at St George’s Hall, so do check the venue when you book.
