Communities Against River Pollution will host their first Bewdley River Festival from 7 June to World Rivers Day on 27 September 2026. This extended summer festival celebrates the River Severn as a focal point of community life while raising vital awareness about its health. Communities Against River Pollution is a local citizen science project working to restore a clean and healthy river for everyone.
The festival features a wide range of activities including photography exhibitions, art, music, walks, talks, workshops, and children’s events. A flagship component of the festival is a photography competition and exhibition themed around the question of whether a river is alive. This thought-provoking artwork by local enthusiasts will be displayed at various locations across Bewdley.
The primary mission of the festival is to gain a Rights for Rivers Charter to protect the River Severn from pollution. Visitors and locals are encouraged to help make a difference by signing the petition, which can be done at festival events or online via the official petition page. For the full programme of events, please visit the CARP website.
