West Midlands Safari Park is an award-winning visitor attraction located in Spring Grove, Bewdley. Spanning a massive site, the park offers a combination of a four mile drive through safari, walk through exhibits, an Adventure Theme Park, and luxury overnight Safari Lodges. The core attraction is the self drive safari, which is split into African and Asian reserves where many of the critically endangered animals are free roaming. Visitors can drive their own vehicles or book guided minibus and jeep tours to see African elephants, lions, tigers, giraffes, and Indian rhinos right outside their windows.
Beyond the drive, the pedestrianised Safari Walk and Discovery Trail provide extensive all weather attractions. The African Walking Trail allows guests to view cheetahs, white lions, and elephants on foot, while the Discovery Trail features Penguin Cove, the Twilight Cave for bats, a Reptile House housing green anacondas, and the Red Panda Retreat. The park also features the Land of the Living Dinosaurs, which is the largest animatronic dinosaur exhibit in the UK with over forty life size prehistoric creatures, alongside a dedicated Ice Age exhibit.
During the summer season, from February half term to October half term, the Adventure Theme Park is open daily. This area requires separate ride tickets or wristbands and features attractions ranging from the African Big Apple Coaster to family friendly dodgems and pirate ships. For those looking to extend their visit, the park provides exclusive Safari Lodges that offer immersive overnight stays with direct views into the animal habitats, including the elephant, cheetah, and red panda enclosures. The park is highly accessible, offering level access for wheelchairs, manual wheelchair hire, and a fully equipped Changing Places adult changing room. As an added incentive, all paying visitors who arrive by car receive a free return ticket valid for six months.
