Pon De River has found a home on Load Street

Posted 29th Jun 2026

Pon De River has its own home now. The Caribbean kitchen that built a following around Bewdley as a pop-up has taken a permanent spot in town, at Graham House on Load Street, cooking for collection.

It is run by Selina and the Pon De River family, and it is collection only: order online at ponderiver.com and pick up from the Load Street kitchen. The food is proper Caribbean home cooking. Jerk chicken, curry mutton, brown stew chicken and oxtail, jerk seabass and seasoned hake, with wings and tings, mac and cheese, rice and peas, festival dumplings, sweet plantain chips and saltfish and ackee. There are bigger boxes too, like the double loaded dutty fries, and specials that come and go.

Collection runs Friday to Sunday, from 4.30pm to 11.30pm.

They have been generous about how much the town’s support has meant to them along the way, and it is exactly the kind of independent that makes a town. If you have not tried them yet, this is a good moment to start. You can find the details on the Pon De River listing.
