There is a treat in store for anyone near the Severn Valley Railway this Saturday, 8 August. A historic Dakota is set to fly over part of the line as the railway holds its Vintage Transport Extravaganza, and it should be a fine sight against the summer sky.
The flypast is due at around 1.05pm, over the Bridgnorth end of the line towards Highley, courtesy of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. As the railway itself puts it, “look to the skies”. Do bear in mind that the timing is approximate and the flypast depends on the weather and operational availability on the day.
