Fireworks open Bewdley Carnival’s 100th year

Posted 27th Jun 2026

Bewdley Carnival’s 100th year began last night with the annual Firework Display over the River Severn at Bewdley Rowing Club. The show opened the centenary weekend, and Kidderminster Drone caught it beautifully from the air.

The video below was filmed by Kidderminster Drone, who have kindly given permission for us to share it. You can see more of their work on their Facebook page.

The display was sponsored again this year by Richie Heath and Light Ideas Ltd, and it set up the main event. The carnival itself is today, Saturday 27 June, from noon, so if you are heading in it is worth a look at the road closures first.

A hundred years on from the first parade in 1926, the town is celebrating in style. There is more in our write-up of the carnival’s centenary.
