Bewdley Carnival: road closures and joining the procession

Posted 26th Jun 2026

Bewdley Carnival is on Saturday 27 June, and with the parade comes a day of road closures in the town. Here is when the roads are shut, and how to join the walking procession if you fancy it.

The town centre is closed from 6am to 8pm, and Bewdley Bridge is closed to vehicles for the day. Trimpley Lane closes from 10.30am. The rolling closure for Habberley Road, Kidderminster Road at Catchem’s End and any ancillary roads begins at around 11.45am and stays in place until the parade has passed through. High Street, Park Lane, Welch Gate and the Dowles Road then close from around 12.45pm, again until the parade has been and gone. Those later timings, and the re-openings, depend on the size of the procession on the day, so treat them as a guide rather than the minute.

If you would like to be in the procession rather than watching it, the CARP walking group would love to have you. Wear something blue or green and meet them at around 11am at Anton Close, off Trimpley Lane, where the procession sets off. They will have fish decorations for people to carry, and you might spot Sabrina, the spirit of the river, leading the way.

For the full rundown of the day, see the Bewdley Carnival event listing.
