Trimpley Sailing Club

Trimpley Sailing Club is a family focused RYA Recognised Training Centre situated at Trimpley Reservoir within Eymore Wood. The club provides a structured environment for both competitive racing and recreational sailing, utilizing a 30ft deep concrete lined reservoir that maintains near constant water levels throughout the year. As a registered charity, the organization focuses on promoting sailing within the local community through affordable access to water sports.

The training programme includes RYA qualified instruction for adults and juniors, covering dinghy sailing from beginner stages through to advanced levels. For those interested in powerboating, the club also delivers RYA Powerboat Level 2 courses. The junior section is particularly active, using a fleet of Toppers and Optimists to help younger sailors develop confidence and technical skills in small group settings.

Club racing takes place regularly, with established classes including GP14, Laser, and Topper. The clubhouse, housed in a converted barn, provides essential facilities including changing rooms, showers, and a social area that serves as a classroom during training sessions. A workshop is also available for members to carry out essential boat maintenance.

While the reservoir and facilities are accessible to members from dawn until dusk, the clubhouse is typically staffed during peak sailing times on Wednesday afternoons and weekends. Prospective members are encouraged to visit during these scheduled sessions to view the facilities and discuss training or membership options with the committee.
