Foundry Artists is a vibrant creative community based in The Old Foundry Studio, a historic brass foundry situated within the beautiful grounds of Bewdley Museum. Led by professional artist and tutor Hilary Baker, the group brings together emerging and established artists from across Worcestershire to collaborate, learn, and exhibit their work.
The studio hosts a comprehensive programme of weekly art classes and workshops, available during the daytime on Thursdays and Fridays, as well as relaxed evening sessions. With expert tuition tailored to all abilities, participants can explore a wide variety of materials and techniques. Whether you are interested in painting, ceramic sculpture, printmaking, or drawing, there is an opportunity to develop your own visual language in an encouraging environment. The studio also provides Artfix, a dedicated therapeutic art session designed to enhance emotional intelligence through creative expression, making it a wonderful addition to the community groups in town.
In addition to regular classes, Foundry Artists frequently organise outdoor painting expeditions, life drawing sessions, and community events. Their annual exhibitions celebrate the creative journeys of the students, allowing them to showcase and sell their artwork to the public. To view the online gallery or secure a place on an upcoming course, please visit the Foundry Artists website.
The studio offers a well equipped space tucked away from the main visitor areas. It is easily accessible from Load Street through the museum courtyard, making it the perfect destination to find inspiration and unleash your creativity as part of the many things to do in the area.
