Bewdley Festival is holding its tenth annual Wyre Forest Young Musician of the Year competition. This evening once again promises to be full of the most remarkable young musical talent.
The competition is open to young musicians who are in education and either live in or attend a school or college in the Wyre Forest district. Entrants must have a minimum age of 12 and a maximum age of 18 as of 31 December 2025.
Competition Categories:
- Classical Music Section (Instrumentalists and Singers)
- Solo Instrumentalist (non classical)
- Solo Singer (accompanied or unaccompanied)
- Group (two or more members, acoustic or amplified)
Prizes Include:
- Best Young Musician aged 14 or under
- Best Original Composition
- The Wyre Forest Young Musician of the Year, which includes automatic entry into the 2027 Rotary district competition
- An additional prize of £50 for each entrant, courtesy of Bewdley Rotary Club
The event takes place at St George’s Hall on Load Street, with the evening competition open to the viewing public. Entry to the evening event is £7 for adults and free for those aged under 19 or currently in education.
