Join Bewdley Museum for a fascinating illustrated talk exploring one of the most celebrated adaptations in cinema history. Tolkien’s Books and Jackson’s Films is a lavishly illustrated exploration of how Tolkien’s major literary work, The Lord of the Rings, was interpreted and understood by the team behind Peter Jackson’s widely acclaimed trilogy of films. The talk includes movie clips and lasts approximately one hour.
Your host for the evening is Alan Baxter, a member of the Tolkien Society who has delivered talks at the Society’s ‘Return of the Ring’ conference, visited filming locations in New Zealand, and taken part in the Lord of the Rings fan film Born of Hope. Alan also has an extensive background in the heritage sector, having managed and mentored museum sites and projects and created Lord of the Rings events, tours, and talks.
