Bewdley Bowling Club is a lawn bowls club on Riverside North, on the bank of the River Severn and a short walk over the bridge from the town centre. New and experienced bowlers are both welcome, and there is social membership for anyone who wants to use the club without playing.
The green hosts league fixtures, club competitions and friendly matches through the season, with the clubhouse as the social side of the club.
Membership is £32 a year, or £28 for concessions, which covers anyone over 65, students, and 16 to 18 year olds. To join, call in at the club and complete an application form, which is then proposed and seconded, and pay the fee. Membership runs for 12 months and is renewed between 1 January and 28 February.
The club’s large room is available for hire, along with the outside space, for birthdays, wakes, parties, christenings and similar occasions. Hire is £25 for members and £40 for non-members. You can arrange your own food or ask the club to put on a buffet, priced per head. Two free car parks sit next to the club, and the town centre car parks are a walk over the bridge.
