The annual Bewdley Duck Race, organised by the Kidderminster and District Lions Club, returns to the River Severn this Easter Monday.
Hundreds of rubber ducks will be launched from Bewdley Bridge, creating a colourful flotilla as they race downstream. The event is a popular tradition that raises funds directly for local charities supported by the Lions Club.
Registration usually takes place on Severn Side South during the morning, with entry costing £3 per duck. The race itself traditionally begins at 12 noon, marked by the sound of a cannon blast. There will be a planned road closure in place from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm to facilitate the event.
Local canoeists and kayakers will be on the water to help keep the ducks on course and ensure a safe race.
