Three of Bewdley’s most beloved destinations have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to local tourism at the 2025 Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards.
Held at the Three Counties Showground on Friday 21 March, the awards night celebrated excellence across the region’s visitor economy, with over 70 finalists attending. Among them were West Midlands Safari Park, Hopley’s Family Camping, and the Severn Valley Railway – each receiving special commendation for their role in making Worcestershire a welcoming and memorable destination.
West Midlands Safari Park was highly commended in the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism category, recognising its efforts to create an environment that can be enjoyed by all visitors. The park has long been a favourite with families and animal lovers, and this award acknowledges its continued commitment to improving access for everyone.
Hopley’s Family Camping, tucked away just outside the town centre, was highly commended in the Camping, Glamping & Holiday Park of the Year category. The site offers a relaxed and family-friendly base for exploring Bewdley, with beautiful countryside surroundings and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back year after year.
Severn Valley Railway, which runs through the heart of Bewdley, was also highly commended – this time in the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category. A highlight of any visit to the town, the heritage railway draws thousands of visitors each year with its steam trains, period stations, and scenic journeys along the River Severn.
With so many local favourites recognised, it’s clear that Bewdley continues to punch above its weight when it comes to visitor experiences. The awards also raised more than £3,500 for Midlands Air Ambulance – a charity that plays a vital role across Worcestershire and beyond.
Whether you’re here for a family holiday, a nostalgic trip by steam, or a weekend under the stars, Bewdley’s warm welcome and standout attractions continue to shine.
